Tampa, Fla., is the home of numerous sports teams including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Rays—making it a stomping ground for many athletes and a city of frequent wins and loses. This September, we will add two more events to its history as the 8th Annual NordGlass Auto Glass Technician Olympics and the 8th Annual GlasWeld Windshield Repair Olympics in honor of Walt Gorman head to Tampa this September 18-20.
Competitors will compete over three days for the title of “World’s Best Auto Glass Technician” and “World’s Best Windshield Repair Technician” at the Tampa Convention Center. The champion of each event will be crowned at the Gala Awards Reception and Ceremony on Friday, September 20.
8th Annual NordGlass Auto Glass Technician Olympics
Now in its eighth year, the AGTO provides the opportunity for technicians from around the world to compete to replace a damaged windshield. Industry veterans judge the competitors’ replacements as well as their procedures, safety, cleanliness and customer interaction. It is also a chance to learn from other professionals, execute safe, quality installations, pick up innovative techniques and of course compete for the chance to hold the title of “World’s Best Auto Glass Technician.”

8th Annual GlasWeld Windshield Repair Olympics in Honor of Walt Gorman
Entering its eighth year, the WRO is an opportunity for technicians from around the world to compete to repair a chip in a vehicle’s windshield. Industry veterans judge the competitors’ repairs as well as their procedures, safety, cleanliness and customer interaction. This event provides the opportunity for competitors to learn from other professionals, execute safe, quality automotive glass repair, pick up innovative techniques and of course compete for the chance to hold the title of “World’s Best Windshield Repair Technician.”
